LOOKING FOR AKI (2008 – ONGOING)
Looking for Aki is an ongoing memory store project dedicated to my favorite director, the Finn Aki Kaurismäki, whose cinema I have been following ever since I was a teenager. When I travel I occasionally bump into places or situations that I associate to his cinema, as a sort of exercise of mapping my memory. His love for a marginal Europe, in a geographical and human sense, as well as his characters and unique locations, are always part of my everyday life imagery.
